Friendswood Friends Cemetery
The Friendswood Friends Cemetery is certified by the Texas Historical Commission as a “Texas Historic Cemetery.” It was established in 1895 just months after the first settlers arrived. Friendswood co-founder, Frank J. Brown, donated the land and laid out the cemetery with its two private roads crossing at the center. A burial site was needed for young Newton Knode who was killed instantly by a falling tree while he was cutting firewood. Many Friendswood pioneers and their descendents are buried here as are other former city and church leaders.

An annotated map (cemetery layout) is provided to help you locate several of our early pioneers’ grave sites. An overview video is displayed below.
