Hello, I’m Eric Royle {aka BigE}. I have been a long time family member of Friendswood Friends Church. Yes, I do consider each one of you as family!
As a young man, when I read this scripture, the Lord placed in me a desire to go to a far away place, and share the love of Christ with a different culture. This far away place has always been Rwanda!
I was first introduced to Rwanda by Paul and Leona Thornburgs. Listening to theirs and others stories, {Fergusons and Thomas’s} gave me a excitement about the people, and culture. Well, I’ve just always wanted to experience them. After the genocide in 1994, I just can’t think of a people and culture who couldn’t use the Love of Christ more.
The Lord’s timing is best. In 2002, we sent a team to Rwanda. I couldn’t go! The Lord had closed the door for me. I really wanted to go. I did get the opportunity to give support and pray for the team! I had realized that we all are part of not only a church family, but the family of God.
I’m very excited to have this opportunity go to Rwanda. I’m looking forward to sharing our church family with the families of the missionaries, Rwandan churches and, people of Rwanda. I’m trusting God to use the gifts and talents he has given me to serve in Rwanda how He sees fit.
